The zinc powder feeder is a specialized device designed for feeding zinc powder in the gold cyanidation precipitation process. It utilizes a motor-driven rotating disc for material delivery, ensuring precise and easily adjustable feed rate control.
Working Principle
The disc-type zinc powder feeder operates by transmitting power from an electric motor through a V-belt drive and a two-stage worm gear reducer, which rotates the central shaft and disc. Zinc powder fed into the hopper descends by gravity onto the rotating disc and is then scraped off by a plow into the discharge outlet.
This feeder is specifically applied in gold cyanidation circuits to provide continuous and uniform zinc powder addition into mixers filled with pregnant solution. The unit consists of a belt feeder and a mixing tank, achieving both zinc powder feeding and thorough mixing with the pregnant solution. Zinc powder required for an 8-hour operation can be evenly spread on the belt surface at once, enabling automatic and continuous feeding into the mixing tank over the 8-hour period. This design significantly reduces labor intensity and minimizes zinc powder losses.
