The slurry has minimal retention volume and short residence time in the cyclone, allowing quick drainage upon shutdown. The machine delivers high classification efficiency.
Working Principle
The hydrocyclone is equipment used to separate and remove coarse, heavy solid particles such as sand from slurry. It is also occasionally employed for sludge dewatering. Typically constructed as a circular cylindrical structure or metal pipe, the slurry enters tangentially under pressure or gravity from the upper section. Under centrifugal force, coarser and heavier particles are thrown toward the wall, spiral downward, and discharge through the underflow. Finer particles, after a certain degree of rotation, exit with the secondary ascending vortex through the overflow.
